The functions directory could not be found !

Please make sure you have uploaded the complete "functions" directory, and that you have NOT changed its name. This directory must keep this name for this software to continue to proceed. Please correct this problem and try again.

A Database Connection Could Not Be Established. There are 2 files that should be found in the web directory, dbinfo.php and dbconfig.php. These files were not found, and the install directory was also not found.

So first check to see if this cart was installed by looking for the database assigned to this cart (if there is one yet), and if the database is there, then check to see if the web directory exists and has the 2 files named above. If either the database is not found OR either of those two files are missing, then you will need to upload the install directory and install the cart (follow the install instructions).

If the database exists, make sure it is set up as an AFCommerce version 2 database because a version 1 database will not work, at all, with the version 2 files. You can tell if its version 2 by the number of tables inside the database, and since version 2 has many add ons, there may be a different number of tables depending on what was installed. Don't worry though, its easy to tell if its NOT version 2, because version 1 had 22 tables and version 2 has at least 37. So if you find only 22 tables in that database, then you must upgrade to version 2 before you can use this cart.

I don't want to overload you with information, but if you try any of the above fixes and you still can't connect, there is one more thing to check. If you already have a version 2 database set up, then you should check the web directory and the 2 necessary files for the proper file permissions. Any web developer should know what this means, but if you don't, this message will not explain it to you. I will probably add some documentation to explain this better, so check the README file in the main cart directory and there MIGHT be info in there that can help. AFCommerce is constantly being improved, so when extra help is available you will have to find it in the README file or on the AFCommerce support site, www.afcommerce.com. I will not be updating this file every time I add new docs.

Ok with that being said, check that the web directory and necessary files all have 755 file permissions. If they do not, give them 755 file permissions and see if the system works.
