Five undocumented immigrants found to be infected with Covid-19 have been rushed to hospital in Hat Yai after their conditions worsened.
Police escorted five ambulances carrying the Myanmar migrants from Songkhla immigration detention centre to Hat Yai hospital on Monday (April 27).
They were among 42 confirmed cases discovered on Saturday at the centre in the southern border province. Thirty-six remain at the detention centre.
On Sunday, a pregnant woman was sent from the detention centre to Songklanagarind Hospital after her condition worsened. Health officials said they are monitoring the remaining cases at the centre and would send them to hospital if their symptoms worsened.

Foreigners stuck on Phi Phi screened for Covid-19
Some 270 foreign tourists stranded on Phi Phi Island were screened for Covid-19 by Krabi provincial authorities on Monday (April 27).
Deputy Krabi governor Somkuan Kanngern, who led the screening team, said the effort was part of proactive measures to curb transmissions. The team also met with islanders and local business operators to assess possible risks if restrictions were lifted in Krabi.
